Ten Percent Monday

Ten Percent off Everything on Mondays

We could have a long and complicated conversation about why 10 percent and not 12 percent of 8 percent. Frankly, I don’t know the answer.

What’s important about 10 percent?

First, it’s an easy-to-remember number.

Second, it is a significant discount.

Third, art from the Art Shoppe is original and unique, and all made by Minnesota artists and we want to share it with you.  Here is a selection:

1-1/2 hours of free parking in the ramp with a merchant’s stamp

Cats of the Art Shoppe #2

Some Art Shoppe artists have passing acquaintance with cats — others are fantastically inspired and ruled by them. Sometimes, it may be hard to tell the difference.

Pamela Kirton’s Cats

Once a fabric designer, Pamela Kirton has taken those fabric designs into the 21st century. She has a family of cats created with some of those designs using digital pieced patchwork. (Roosters and owls, too!). Catboy (the drawing) is watching you. Click here to learn more about her bird art.

Peter Elvidge’s Cats

Peter Elvidge is a pixel artist. What’s that? With extremely limited vision and up-to-the-minute-technology, he makes his art one pixel at a time. Some of his images have millions of pixels, and he is the Guiness World Record Holder for two images with the largest number of pixels (800,000 +) in record time.

Yes. One. Pixel. At. A. Time.

Susan Gainen’s Cats

Managed by Max-the-Cat, Susan Gainen paints Max and his friends. Some of them appear in New World of Cats: Max the Cat and His Friends (at Amazon and in autographed at The Art Shoppe). The Blue Cave Cat (below) is on the a panel that was part of the Lost Cave Paintings of Saint Paul installation at the 2013 WARM (Women’s Art Resources) Protege Show.
