Art Shoppe 20% off ’til Sunday 6 p.m.

The Art Shoppe’s quiet 20% off everything except books sale ends on Sunday November 29 at 6 p.m. Our sale is very quiet. No screaming, no shouting, no loud music, not opportunity for electronic meltdown. The sale is in the Shoppe, and  on behalf of our 90 Minnesota artists, we hope that you come to The Midtown Global Market for great food and wonderful art. Don’t forget that you can get 1-1/2 hours of free parking with a merchant’s stamp.

Come for jewelry (gemstone, fused glass, watch-part, polymer clay, marbled leather), holiday ornaments, paintings, cards, prints, photography, upcycled clothing, ceramics (plates, bowls, cups, mugs), marbled paper goods, cat/rooster/owl digital pieced patchwork prints and cards, paintings of iconic Minneapolis buildings, collage bookmarks, hats, prints (from printmaking),  Copper Mojo jewelry, and lots, lots more.

The Art Shoppe. Quietly. 20% off everything (except books)

Not wanting to point fingers (real or virtual) at the merchants (brick and mortar or on-line) who are sending out notices of hot, hyper, super, super-super, BLOW out! sales, we at the Art Shoppe are quietly offering 20% off everything except books until the Shoppe closes on Sunday at 6 p.m.

Come to the Midtown Global Market for food-unrelated-to-turkey and then visit The Art Shoppe to see the work of 90 local artists.

Allie Hafez’ Prize Lariat

Lariat:  Don’t Fence Me In

Honorable Mention at the Whiz Bang Members’ Show
Robbin Gallery, Robbinsdale, MN
Created with Leopardskin jasper, bugle & seed bead,  Integrated loop
clasp, using dimensional right-angle-weave and fringe stitch.

Allie’s Inspiration Story

I created this lariat necklace shortly after reading an article about
a large cat that escaped its enclosure at a zoo. I thought of the
difference in behavior of a caged animal vs. a wild or free one. Thus,
I used leopardskin jasper to represent the wild cat; and designed the
necklace with a  “tamed”/contained section, and an unruly section.
