Cats of the Art Shoppe #2

Some Art Shoppe artists have passing acquaintance with cats — others are fantastically inspired and ruled by them. Sometimes, it may be hard to tell the difference.

Pamela Kirton’s Cats

Once a fabric designer, Pamela Kirton has taken those fabric designs into the 21st century. She has a family of cats created with some of those designs using digital pieced patchwork. (Roosters and owls, too!). Catboy (the drawing) is watching you. Click here to learn more about her bird art.

Peter Elvidge’s Cats

Peter Elvidge is a pixel artist. What’s that? With extremely limited vision and up-to-the-minute-technology, he makes his art one pixel at a time. Some of his images have millions of pixels, and he is the Guiness World Record Holder for two images with the largest number of pixels (800,000 +) in record time.

Yes. One. Pixel. At. A. Time.

Susan Gainen’s Cats

Managed by Max-the-Cat, Susan Gainen paints Max and his friends. Some of them appear in New World of Cats: Max the Cat and His Friends (at Amazon and in autographed at The Art Shoppe). The Blue Cave Cat (below) is on the a panel that was part of the Lost Cave Paintings of Saint Paul installation at the 2013 WARM (Women’s Art Resources) Protege Show.

10% off everything every Monday

The Art Shoppe. Quietly. 20% off everything (except books)

Not wanting to point fingers (real or virtual) at the merchants (brick and mortar or on-line) who are sending out notices of hot, hyper, super, super-super, BLOW out! sales, we at the Art Shoppe are quietly offering 20% off everything except books until the Shoppe closes on Sunday at 6 p.m.

Come to the Midtown Global Market for food-unrelated-to-turkey and then visit The Art Shoppe to see the work of 90 local artists.
