A dozen years ago I began tinkering with wire and beads. The next thing I knew I was fashioning earrings with the wire I shaped, adding glass, stone, and metal beads. When I first began using jewelry tools, the wire cutter reminded me of the tin snips I saw my dad and older brother use many years ago as metal workers. Although my tools are tiny and my dad’s were huge, I see that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. In addition to the earrings that kicked off my artistic endeavor in jewelry, I make necklaces—all of which I sell in The Art Shoppe.
I’ve been involved with the wonderful group of artists at the shop since 2012, and I enjoyed volunteering regularly as a sales clerk before the epidemic. Between helping customers, I completed some of my jewelry right there as I sat at the sales counter. I really look forward to resuming my being an active participant at the shop.
