I am grateful to my parents who provided me the tools to be creative and think about what’s possible. Throughout the years, I have found myself working on projects with the theme of preserving memories. First, it was with the camcorder, then flute performance, and now 3-D printing.
The inspiration for my original designs comes from personal memories and my wife who is also a Korean adoptee. I am able to spend hours working on a 3-D model that reminds me of a special memory such as eating pineapples in Hawaii. 3-D printing allows me to bring my creations into the world and make refinements quickly. PLA filament is the material I use which has the main ingredient of cornstarch and contains other additives as well. FDM printing is the technique I use to make my 3-D prints. This simply means each layer of filament is melted and fused to the layer below it using different patterns.
I hope you enjoy the artistic pieces I have created. I believe the colors and design will elevate the space wherever you place it.
